Purpose: 

To state this organization’s support of University policies pertaining to electronic communications and acceptable use.

Policy: 

The University of California encourages the use of electronic communications to share information and knowledge in support of the University's mission of education, research and public service and to conduct the University's business. To this end, Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) supports and provides interactive electronic communications services for telecommunications, mail, publishing, and broadcasting.  SHCS employees are provided with a computer account at the request of their supervisors.  All users must follow the provisions of the campus UCD PPM Section 310-23 Electronic Communications-Allowable Use, UCD PPM Section 310-24 Electronic Communications-Privacy and Access and SHCS Policy and Procedure, 110-18 Electronic Communications with Patient/Client.  Violations of SHCS or University Policy can result in serious disciplinary, corrective, or legal action.
